Clay Lacy Aviation John Wayne Airport FBO

KPFF is providing structural and civil engineering for a new full-service Fixed-Base Operator facility at John Wayne Airport. The new facility is on an approximately 15-acre site currently occupied by multiple hangar structures and airplane and helicopter parking, which will be demolished in phases to accommodate the new FBO development while maintaining partial continuity of existing facilities and services. The new buildings will include:

• Four 40,000 GSF hangars
• Four single-story 3,800
• GSF office buildings
• A two-story 24,000 GSF FBO terminal/office building
• A 15,000 GSF Orange County Sheriff department facility

Other project elements include free-standing canopies, trash enclosures, visual barrier walls, retaining walls, and hardened anti-ram walls.
